Dr. Alexandra Palli

Clinical Psychologist – Psychotherapist

Alexandra Palli is a psychologist and psychotherapist. She graduated with honors from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germany and holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Athens (EKPA) with honors.

Her doctoral thesis focuses on communication in families where a child or adult has psychopathology and on psychoeducation.

She has completed further training and certifications in various psychotherapies in Greece, Germany, England, Italy, and the USA. She practices systemic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral family therapy, and psychoeducation.

She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing psychological difficulties or relationship issues, especially during significant life changes, decisions, or crises. She offers sessions both in person and remotely, and also in German and English.

In addition to her clinical work, she organizes seminars on communication for companies, utilizing psychoeducation techniques.

Alexandra began her professional career in Greece as a clinical psychologist at the Mental Health Center of Vyronas-Kaisariani and remains a scientific collaborator at the First University Psychiatric Clinic of Aeginiteio Hospital. She has also worked diagnostically and therapeutically with children for many years until her interest shifted to psychoeducation, focusing on adolescents, adults, and families.

She is a long-term and ongoing collaborator of EPIPSY (Research University Institute of Mental Health, Neurosciences and Precision Medicine “Costas Stefanis”) where she participated in many programs, such as the Support and Monitoring Units of the nationwide Psychargos Program. She co-directs and teaches in the two-year postgraduate psychoeducation programs for mental health professionals. She is trained (by Prof. Ian RH Falloon) as a clinical supervisor for therapists applying psychoeducation to individuals or families with chronic conditions.

In recent years, she has coordinated psychological support and psychoeducation groups at Mana-Mazi for Life, helping women with breast cancer regain their quality of life, as well as at Aurora.org, assisting patients and relatives with hematological diseases, and health professionals caring for these patients.

She also has scientific responsibility for the actions promoting Gender Equality and Combating Gender Violence of E.P.A.PSY. (Company of Regional Development and Mental Health) in the Cyclades region.

She has taught at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus.

Alexandra participates in scientific studies and has 14 publications in international scientific journals.

She is a member of important scientific societies such as E.F.T.A. (European Family Therapy Association), E.L.Ps.E. (Hellenic Psychological Society), E.E.S.S.K.E.Ps.O. (Hellenic Society of Systemic Thinking and Family Psychotherapy). She is the President of the Board of Directors of the Greek branch of the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (W.A.P.R.), a purely scientific organization aimed at enhancing recovery and rehabilitation in all types of chronic mental problems.

She frequently gives public talks, in schools, patient or family associations, and systematically participates in national and international conferences as a guest speaker.

Alexandra is a mother of two children.

She is proficient in English, French, and German, and has a basic knowledge of Russian and Sanskrit.

She is inspired and learns from the unique stories of the individuals who trust her with their thoughts and feelings and envisions a more participatory and inclusive world with better mental health. She finds relaxation in reading everything, walking miles on new paths, watching the sunrise from an airplane window, creating space with friends for fresh ideas and experiments, and writing about mental health issues in print and online media.
